Remember That Co-Worker I Mentioned Before?
Not the one I talked into taking the same job as I have, who wound up hating it and leaving for a different company altogether.
(But not IN her altogether, I hope. That might be getting off on the wrong foot.)
I appear to have strayed from my point somewhat. I refer now to the co-worker who explained to me that she had fully researched the matter and "knew for a fact'"that Barack Obama is a closet Muslim.
THAT co-worker wound up with her badge de-activated so she couldn't get into the building anymore. She's FIRED, baby. Not for her religio-political views. Just for general, gross incompetence. And could I ever tell you some stories about her! It was an unbelievable mess in her corner of the workplace for, well, A COUPLE OF YEARS.
Just once, in a job situation -- really one of the only times I can think of -- ORDER has been imposed on CHAOS in a way I can get behind. I know it was really hard for our mid-boss to do, but he managed. It was hard for him, but it was apparently impossible for someone else who needed to do it. The incompetent co-worker's immediate boss had to leave for another job herself before the boss's boss finally took matters in hand.
THANKS, MID-BOSS -- I KNOW IT HAD TO BE ROUGH TO TAKE THIS STEP.
THANKS, MID-BOSS -- I KNOW IT HAD TO BE ROUGH TO TAKE THIS STEP.
Now, if anyone is interested, I have a list of names that need handling in MUCH THE SAME WAY; some of them have been waiting for YEARS longer to get canned.
Sometimes ORDER HURTS, but sometimes it is also EXACTLY WHAT HAS TO HAPPEN.
I'm telling you all this in part because I get a creepy, superstitious feeling that if I gloat over this act of justice, I TOO WILL BE BLASTED BY THE FICKLE FINGER OF FATE, the way she was. I'm having a bit of an exorcism moment -- here goes:
Away with that! There was nothing fickle ABOUT it. People were seriously complaining about her. She was hopelessly burned out. It was time for her to leave. And as I say, there are other names in worse need of firing, and I HOPE THEY GET THEIRS, TOO.

I JUST HOPE I'M NOT THE NEXT NAME ON SOMEONE ELSE'S LIST, IS ALL I'M SAYING..
