Where do I start in discussing this staggering 2012 film release?

LET ME START AT THE END.  In the very last scene, our heroes find themselves in a sort of cavernous ritual chamber, surrounded by standing stones with archetypal images carved on them.  A line painted on the floor (or is it contrasting flagstones purchased at Home Depot?) leads from each standing stone to the center of the room...FORMING A PENTAGON.

I won't wreck the story for you, but every decision made by the characters up until now has led them here.  They make one final decision...And the last thing we see is the pentagon shuddering into splinters.

What this means, in this movie as in the Erisian's laughable concept of Real simply that CHAOS HAS ARRIVED.

What's cooler than cool about this is that the pentagon really does represent to THEM what it does to US, an attempt to impose their idea of Order on what appears to be Chaos.  The heroes take a distinctly Erisian approach to the problem.  We can hear this when they say things like "Let's get this party started!" at a place in the story where a more Greyfaced type would be saying "I'll sign anything, man, just KEEP THE CHAOS FROM HAPPENING."

But the heroes are sort of interested in what's going to happen.  They're not nearly as scared as I, personally, expected.  They agree with the Erisian mindset when they say, in effect, hey, IT MIGHT BE AN IMPROVEMENT FOR CHAOS TO SHOW UP.

Open that door, baby, and see who shows up for the party!!!

Don't miss this one. It's a deeply pious film.  If you think in that particular way.
